Meeting on internal audit concludes.

Summary: Internal auditing helps drive strong organisational governance and effective risk management

The UAE Internal Auditors Association (IAA) in association with the Dubai Land Department hosted the second Internal Audit Government Forum 2016 to encourage chapters around the world to actively promote internal auditing. This was organised under the theme 'Innovation and Creativity in the future of Internal Audit'.

The aim of the event was to enhance the business community's knowledge of the essential role internal auditing plays in strong organisational governance and effective risk management.

When management and boards of directors come to fully appreciate the value of internal auditing, they ensure the internal audit activity is adequately sourced and effectively utilised.

The forum provided a first-rate relationship-building and networking opportunity for attendees along with prospects for information exchange for best practices in administrative and financial control and corporate governance fields. It was the perfect platform to identify new global and technological trends and discuss challenges and risks relating to the internal audit profession.

The occasion was opened by Sultan Butti bin Mejren, director-general of DLD, and Abdulqader Obaid Ali, president of the UAE IAA.
