An entrepreneur is baking up a storm with her new business making all the classic puddings you'll remember from your school days.
Grace Healing set up Old School Favourites from herNorthwichkitchen 18 months ago, after discovering she had a talent for baking when she was out of work and started making more sweet treats.
Having previously worked in kitchen restaurants, the 29-year-old was spurred on to get a five star hygiene rating for her brand new kitchen fromCheshire West and Chester Counciland start selling her creations via Facebook.
"My Chocolate Crunch from here was the main inspiration when I was trialling recipes," the formerHelsby High Schoolstudent toldCheshireLive."One day a friend tried it and told me it was so good I should sell it!
"So I set up a Facebook page and within the week had over 500 followers! Since then I could never have predicted how well it would take off and I now have over 5,000 followers.
"I learnt all my skills along the way as I worked in various restaurants and at a high end patisserie a few years back, which is where that I was taught at a very high standard, which has helped me with the business massively."
Old School Favourites offers everyone's favourite old school puddings like iced sponge cake, jam and coconut sponge and lemon drizzle, but Grace also makes some modern desserts such as Easter egg cheesecakes, millionaire shortbread with Biscoff and Creme Egg rocky road.
"My business and the items I sell are quite unique so I feel that I have minimal competition in my area which is amazing!
"I even have customers that travel from Manchester just for their fix of my old school treats! I think people love to just indulge in their childhood memories. "I could never have imagined how popular my treats would be, but I'm absolutely loving every minute of it."
