? Torchbearer Connor Laverty, 16, has been selected to take the Olympic flame on its route through Menai Bridge.

Living in Anglesey, the person who nominated Connor to carry the torch said: "For the past three years, Connor has won endless national athletics competitions in various disciplines."

Achieving two North Wales Indoor records in triple jump and shot, Connor commits 15 hours of athletics training and is a member of Menai Track and Field.

His nominator also said: "Despite his commitment to his sport, he continues to achieve outstanding results in all his school work as well.

"I know that being a Torchbearer would mean the world to him and he would be eternally grateful for the honour." ? Torchbearer Lorna Price, 15, has been chosen to carry the flame through the streets of Beaumaris.

Living in Amlwch, Lorna was born with a visual impairment. The person who nominated her to take the torch on part of its journey through Wales described her as "A strong determined young lady who wants to prove that her disability will not stop her doing what she puts her mind too."

Lorna Price Lorna began Karate when she was 7, and by the time she was 13 she won her 1st Dan black belt. She has also helped in a UCAN productions for visually impaired children, where she encouraged other younger cast members who are blind or partially sighted.

Her nominator also said: "I feel that due to her disability Lorna always finds a way to get the best out of life and is very inspirational to many others within her sport.
