Medical firm gets [euro]5m to fund 300 jobs.

MORE than 300 jobs are to be created at a medical plant within the next five years.

The Government has approved a [euro]5million grant by Udaras na Gaeltachta to be paid to Randox Teo in Dungloe, Co Donegal.

The investment will fund biochip technology and diagnostic equipment, leading to the creation of 450 jobs by 2020.

Junior Minister Joe McHugh said: "This decision shows the Government's commitment to consolidating employment in areas such as An Clochan Liath in order to sustain viable, rural communities and, in particular, to support the Irish language as the community language in a strong Gaeltacht area."
