Medical Management Institute sold to Contexo Media.

Contexo Media (Salt Lake City, UT), a provider of public health and human services data and information, has acquired the Medical Management Institute (MMI; Alpharetta, GA), a provider of medical coding publications, electronic products and educational and consulting services to healthcare professionals in the U.S. No terms were given. VSS Mezzanine Partners L.P. (New York) provided financing and Whitestone Communications (New York) served as financial advisor.

MMI produces over 100 referential publications and software products highlighting value-priced coding, self-study and instructional references, as well as over 360 educational seminars annually to improve coding practice and administer certification and continuing education credits in coding, Medicare regulations and compliance, and administration management. The company also produces books, dictionaries, references, forms and the "Coding and Medicare Updates" monthly newsletter.

Contexo Media is a b2b information provider that creates, data, information and educational services for health and human service professionals, including social workers, health care professionals, school counselors, adult protective agencies, police agencies and mental health professionals, among others. The company's directories, including "The National Directory of Children, Youth & Family Services," "The National Directory of Adult & Senior Services," "The National Directory of Mental Health Services" and "The National Directory of Addiction Services," are organized by state and county.
