Writing for mediation and conciliation practitioners, Ladd (Coordinator of Advanced Studies in Counseling, St. Lawrence U.) explains how to understand and deal with the emotions of anger, resentment, revenge, apathy, guilt, egotism, greed, jealousy, anxiety, and hatred. One chapter deals mediation, presenting case studies for each emotion and providing advice on relevant mediation practices. Conciliation is the topic of the remaining ten chapters, one for each emotion, which each present a case study, discuss how to understand the particular emotional climate, explore relevant practices of conciliation, describe the healthier alternative emotional climate, and present an emotional climate exercise for conciliation.
