MediaTek to attain EPS of NT$32 for 2009.
Thanks to patronages from its Chinese clients of mobile phones, MediaTek has ranked as No. 2 IC chip designer in the world, only trailing Qualcomm International Inc. of the U.S. in the line. Furthermore, the firm is very likely to see its single-month sales revenue break the NT$10 billion (US$303 million) mark in August.
With handset IC chips contributing over 70% to its sales revenue, the firm noted that strong market demand in emerging markets, like China, India and Brazil, will help to strongly boost its sales performance in the remaining months of the third quarter.
In the meantime, the firm has actively explored new overseas markets as a strategic move to further amplify the booms generated by ChinaAEs proliferating mobile phone industry, mainly because Chinese handset makers have ambitiously gone global by building production lines in other emerging countries, such as Venezuela and Turkey, to tap local consumer markets. Unsurprisingly, MediaTek will be atop their lists of suppliers of handset IC chips.
