Me and My Pet.

LITTLE Owen Quinn just loves animals but a severe skin condition means he is unable to keep furry pets. Instead he keeps a tortoise which the whole family adores.

Here the three-year-old from Redcar, tells us about his pet, with a little help from mum, Claire Fleming.

What pets do you have?

A tortoise.

What is he called and why?

He is called Squirt from the film Finding Nemo, like the sea turtle.

What does your pet do that makes you laugh?

I like it when he digs in the mud because it goes all over.

Any bad habits?

He scratches on the side of his house with his feet and I can't hear the telly.

If your pet could speak what would he say?

He would say: "Can I share your ice cream?"

What do you remember about your first ever pet?

Squirt is my first pet.

If you could keep any animal in the world what would it be and why?

A dog if I never had poorly skin so I could take him on the beach and in the sea.
