McTV; WEEKEND: What's hot and what's not on the box...
The Time Lord found himself imprisoned in the Big Brother house of the future in his latest BBC1 adventure.
There were diary room nominations and paranoid contestants. The only difference with this house was that housemates were blasted into oblivion when they were evicted.
Maybe, Channel 4 might pick up on the idea. It could be one way to get Maxwell, Makosi and the other battling Big Brother housemates to behave themselves for a while.
Putting them in cardboard boxes certainly didn't stop trouble brewing and they made a sorry crew of pirates. There was not much "yo ho ho" about and the rum didn't exactly flow freely. Science (left) was more Captain Hook than Blackbeard and looked like he would get sea-sick in a rowing boat.
Maybe, Doctor Who should drop into BB6 in his tardis and bring along a few dalek chums to stir things up. They could exterminate the garden gnomes and take the minds of the housemates off food and their rumbling tums for a while by chasing them around the garden.
Meanwhile, Time Team's "King of Bling" special on Channel 4 looked at the discovery of a Saxon grave site filled with treasure.
The only problem is that no-one really knew who he was and the clues at the site were confusing. Presenter Tony Robinson looked at all the likely candidates, but the mystery remained about the identity of the gold-loving ex-ruler.
I bet he was the winner of the Saxon version of Big Brother and was buried along with his prize haul. Well, it's a theory.
