McParland leaving Bees.

Byline: NEIL JONES

FORMER Liverpool Academy director Frank McParland will leave his role at Brentford at the end of the season, the Championship club has announced.

McParland is sporting director at Griffin Park, but will depart along with manager Mark Warburton and assistant boss David Weir.

Both Warburton and Weir will continue in their roles for the remainder of this season, but McParland, who parted company with Liverpool in November 2013, has been placed on gardening leave with immediate effect.

Brentford are currently seventh in the Championship, just a point outside the play-off places, and have won plenty of admirers for their brand of football, as well as their ability to develop young players.
