McPake OK after hamstring scare; FOOTBALL.

JAMES McPake has been given a clean bill of health after a scan for a suspected hamstring tear came back clear.

It had been feared the 27-year-old Coventry City defender would be out for weeks after being forced off in the second half against Southampton at the weekend but the player says it was just a bad case of cramp.

"Playing three games in a week was a bit of a shock to my system and I ended up cramping up," explained the centre-back who is due back in training next week ahead of the West Ham game.

"I had a routine scan and the results show that everything is clear."
