McLean claims Cockroft crown ALBERT GUEST.
THE Union's prestigious Strokeplay title has been won by Meltham's Graham McLean at Woodsome Hall.
McLean staged a grandstand finish to win the PS Cockroft Trophy with a second round 69 for a 141 total.
He just pipped Huddersfield's Aarron Schnacke by one shot.
Schnacke posted the morning's best round of 69, but followed it up with a 73 to finish one shot behind.
In third place, again just one shot behind, was Jonathan Fleetwood of Meltham, while Huddersfield's Brad Tupman improved his first round score of 74 with a 70 to take fourth spot.
The Jubilee Trophy, awarded to the best junior, went to Meltham's Tom Hunt, who had consistent rounds of 73 and 74 to finish on 147.
