McLOUTH STEEL ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF CORSO AS PRESIDENT AND COO

 TRENTON, Mich., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- McLouth Steel announced the appointment of Joseph D. Corso to the position of president and chief operating officer effective Oct. 1, 1993.
 Previously, Corso was president of Inland Steel Flat Products Co., a division of Inland Steel Co., Inc. In his 26 years with Inland Steel, Corso held a series of executive and operational positions. While at Inland, Corso was recognized as a leader in achieving a total quality program by instituting aggressive strategic plans and fostering the employee involvement concept.
 Corso is a graduate of Purdue University, where he received his bachelor of science degree - industrial management in 1965 and the University of Chicago, where he received his MBA in 1973. Since that time, Corso has been an active member of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers (AISE), American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), and the Association of Iron and Metal Engineers (AIME).
 Corso replaces Russell N. Stroud who has been on a leave of absence from Chrysler Corporation since October 1992.
 McLouth's board of directors issued a statement expressing appreciation for Stroud's contributions to McLouth during his period of leadership.
