Italy's Leading Cytostatic Drug Infusion Specialty Distributor

Says Market is Ready for Advanced, Non-Balloon Disposable Drug

Delivery Pumps

McKinley Medical, affiliate of The Broe Companies and a global supplier of innovative drug infusion systems, announced today that Italian specialty distributor Sabin Srl has been given exclusive representation of the beeLINE(R) Disposable Syringe Infuser in Italy.

The two-year distribution agreement provides McKinley Medical nationwide access to the Italian market for disposable drug delivery pumps used in cancer chemotherapy, antibiotic therapy, pain control and other clinical applications.

"This agreement fits our growth strategy of adding innovative products with high market potential that complement our existing leadership in cytostatic drug administration systems for cancer chemotherapy," said John Wiles, a Sabin senior partner. "We anticipate strong demand for the beeLINE because it is more flexible for different drug delivery regimens and easier to administer than other disposable pumps available in Italy. The opportunity is significant because Italian clinicians probably lead the EU in their use of disposable pumps."

According to Wiles, the familiar syringe design of the beeLINE infuser offers some conveniences over the elastomeric balloon pumps used in Italy. "It's easier for a clinician to monitor the progress of infusion by reading the scale on the syringe barrel," he said. "Moreover, beeLINE is the only disposable device currently available here that is not prone to the drug precipitation and bursting commonly associated with the balloon systems."

The agreement with Sabin is the first milestone attained by McKinley Medical in its plan to develop a distribution network capable of maximizing market penetration of the beeLINE infuser in individual EU and Asian countries. "We're recruiting market-savvy partners that know infusion therapy, provide nationwide sales coverage, and work well with their government's health and insurance entities," said Randy Hoffman, McKinley Medical president. "We want smart, aggressive marketers."
