McDONNELL DOUGLAS SERVICES INC. AND WORLD TRADE DEVELOPMENT CORP. FORM COMPANY TO SUPPORT OPERATIONS IN SAUDI ARABIA

ST. LOUIS, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- McDonnell Douglas Services Inc., and World Trade Development Corporation Ltd., have formed a joint venture company to support civilian and military aircraft operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The new Saudi-American company, McDonnell Douglas Arabia Ltd., will provide operational and maintenance support for military and civilian aircraft and equipment in Saudi Arabia, technical training, and to construct and maintain related facilities. The company will support the existing construction and support activities of McDonnell Douglas Services and World Trade Development Corp. This will include support of 72 F-15S Eagle multirole aircraft recently ordered by the Royal Saudi Air Force. Expansion into other military and civilian construction and support areas also is planned.
Officials from McDonnell Douglas Services and World Trade Development Corp. met earlier this month in Washington D.C., and St. Louis to review staffing requirements and potential joint venture projects to pursue under the new company. McDonnell Douglas Arabia is scheduled to begin operations during the first quarter of 1993.
McDonnell Douglas Corp. (NYSE: MD) commitment to the Kingdom began in 1980 when it established McDonnell Douglas Services to provide F-15 maintenance support and training to the Royal Saudi Air Force. The company continues to support the air force's ever expanding defense requirements.
World Trade Development Corp. is a Saudi limited liability holding company involved in real estate development, construction and support-related programs for military and civilian entities.
