 WITH ITS PREFERRED SUPPLIER CERTIFICATION
ST. LOUIS, Sept. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- McDonnell Aircraft Co. awarded General Technology Corp. (GTC) of Albuquerque, N.M., its Preferred Supplier Certification Aug. 28. In attendance at the award ceremony were Sen. Pete V. Domenici, R-N.M., and Rep. Steven N. Schiff, R-N.M.
GTC is the 30th supplier worldwide and one of the first small disadvantaged businesses to be certified by McDonnell Aircraft. In the preferred supplier process, McDonnell Aircraft evaluates a corporation's quality, statistical process control, delivery, cost, technology, customer support, and management. With this certification process, McDonnell Aircraft intends to narrow its supplier base from more than 4,000 suppliers to approximately 500 preferred, high-quality suppliers.

GTC, founded in 1981, is housed in a 35,000-square-foot facility in Albuquerque. The corporation has more than 160 full-time employees, including engineers, technicians, assemblers, and professional support staff. GTC's customers include aerospace firms, electronics manufacturers, national laboratories, medical instrumentation manufacturers, and a wide range of other companies. The company performs printed circuit board manufacturing and electronic assembly. McDonnell Aircraft uses GTC products in the F/A-18, F-15, and F-14D training system.
