HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- McDonnell Douglas (NYSE: MD) and the Russian Academy of Science's Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (IMASH) in Moscow today announced an agreement to cooperate on a series of space technology research projects. For McDonnell Douglas, which builds the Delta expendable launch vehicle and is a major participant on the Space Station Freedom program, this agreement is part of the company's initiative to examine and perhaps utilize Russian expertise in materials, advanced mathematics, space systems and extended manned space flight.
