May the G Force be with you.

I WOULD never have imagined it would take a guinea pig to make me marvel at the wonders of computer-generated effects.

However, it hasn't just taken one guinea pig, but a whole superspy team of them.

Practically every shot where we see a guinea pig on screen is entirely pixelpowered. And they look fantastic - especially in eye-popping 3D.

Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, G Force is a high-octane action movie for kids about a group of secret agent talking guinea pigs. The 3D is the best use of the technology in a movie this year and the action jumps from the big screen.

Sam Rockwell, Penelope Cruz and Nicolas Cage - playing a brainy, shortsighted mole called Sparkles - provide the vocal talent.

The simple-to-follow plot revolves around a millionaire electronics mogul - played with relish by Bill Nighy - who plots to take over the world with Transformer-style household appliances.

While G Force uncovers his dastardly plan, they have to contend with the FBI, who want to shut them down.

Directed by Hoyt H. Yeatman, the film is technically impressive and packed with gizmos and gadgets.

For kids 12 and under, it's the perfect summer blockbuster. They'll be glued to the big screen with their 3D specs - and parents won't be bored either.
