Maxwelltown High class reunion.
A pair of former Maxwelltown High pupils are bringing back the good memories for a special reunion night taking place tomorrow evening.
The"Class of 1971" reunion evening is to celebrate pupils who attended the school in the first few years of its opening as work continues on a new campus to replace Maxwelltown High. The event is being organised BYTRISH Grierson and Julie Langlands, who has flown in all the way from Australia to help put together all of the proceedings.
Julie told the Standard: "We're all turning 60 this year and with the school shutting down, we felt it would be nice to organise something.
"We've got around 65 coming at the moment, with people travelling from Italy and Australia to take part.
"Most of the organising has been done via Facebook but there are some people who won't be on Facebook, so it's just trying to get the word out there to people, it's really open to anybody that we know from our time that wants to come along and any teachers would be most welcome too."
The event takes place at the Abbey Inn in Lincluden from 7pm until 10pm, including a buffet, 70s disco and a raffle to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland. For anyone interested contact either email@example.com@hotmail.co.uk for more information on the reunion evening.
