Maths show on the road.

SCHOOLS across Wales are being encouraged to take part in a maths roadshow devised to help meet the needs of the economy.

The Wales Institute of Mathematical and Computational Sciences (WIMCS) has received funding from the Welsh Government through the National Science Academy (NSA) and the Higher Educational Funding Council for Wales (Hefcw) for the "Maths Apps" roadshow.

Working with its main partner Science Made Simple, WIMCS plans to present the roadshow at 24 secondary schools across Wales next spring term.

The 50-minute Maths Apps focuses on five people working in Wales - in areas including vehicle design and hospital radiology - and why maths is important. | Schools are invited to apply by contacting Science Made Simple on 029208 76884
