The S System was designed for data visualization and interactive statistical computing and was recently recognized with the prestigious Software Systems Award given by the Association for Computing Machinery. Other hallmark technologies recognized with this award include UNIX, TCP/IP, Tcl/Tk, INGRES, and Mosaic. MathSoft is the exclusive commercial licensee of the S System, which is incorporated into MathSoft's S-PLUS product line.
