COLUMN: TEN THINGS TO DO

Even if you're not really a fan of death metal, there really is something nifty about listening to a band that is absolutely fantastic at what they do. The German band Necrophagist plays with an unearthly precision: Guitar and bass notes rattle off as though fired from a submachine gun, and Muhammed Suicmez's over-the-top demonic vocals seal the deal. This is death metal in its purest form - a thunderous scream echoing loud and long in the darkness. Necrophagist headlines the Summer Slaughter Tour beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Palladium, 261 Main St., Worcester. Tickets cost $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
