Masterflex Awarded Airbus Deutschland FC Contract.

Gelsenkirchen, Germany-based Masterflex AG recently announced it has been awarded a contract from Airbus Deutschland GmbH for "the development and construction of a fuel cell [(FC)] system."

"This system will allow to test areas where [FCs] could be employed in commercial aircraft," said Masterflex. "Masterflex is convinced that [FCs] will be the energy source of the future, and that aircraft manufacturers will also be able to benefit from the advantages they offer."

Masterflex said it plans to launch its first hydrogen-powered FC, which will initially be used as a power source for mobile office equipment, for series production next year.
