Masked men rob ices van.

A TERRIFIED woman was abducted by two masked men who robbed her ice cream van.

The victim, 33, was on her rounds when the men forced their way into the van - parked in Mavisbank Street, Airdrie, at about 10.45pm on Thursday.

They then drove the victim to nearby Park Street, where they abandoned the vehicle and ran off with the cash on foot.

The woman was unharmed but left extremely shaken by her ordeal.

Strathclyde Police describe the pair as wearing dark clothes, dark gloves and light face masks with eye holes cut out.

Detective Sergeant John Ferguson is appealing for witnesses. Last night he said: "Anyone who has any information about the men responsible or who can assist with this investigation should contact me as soon as possible."
