Mashreq launches 'Supplementary Debit Cards' without the need of a Joint Account.

Mashreq has launched a 'Supplementary Debit Card' product for its current and savings account customers. In partnership with VISA, Mashreq Supplementary Debit Card may be offered to any member of an account holder's family without the need of opening a joint account. Further, the account holder has the flexibility of setting a sub-limit for cash withdrawals and purchases.

Nimish Dwivedi, Head of Cards at Mashreq said, "Mashreq has become synonymous with innovation and we regularly review the benefits offered on our products, to meet evolving customer needs. The launch of the Supplementary Debit Card makes our award-winning Debit Card proposition that much better. We will issue up to six supplementary Debit Cards for your family here in the UAE, for your parents back home or even for your children studying abroad."

The primary account holder can easily apply for the supplementary card without the need to submit any additional documents, by simply visiting a Mashreq branch, via the call-centre or even through Mashreq Online.

The customer can choose to assign a sub-limit and the card can be used at any ATM or merchant in the UAE or across the globe.

Marcello Baricordi, General Manager for Visa in the UAE and Global Accounts Lead, said, "Visa has a long history of innovation that helps clients stay ahead of consumer demands. We are delighted to partner with Mashreq to launch this new Supplementary Visa Debit Card that extends the benefits of a reliable and convenient electronic payment solution beyond the primary cardholder to the whole family. We are confident that Visa's latest innovation responds directly to consumer demands for new ways to pay and to be paid with greater control and security around the world."

Mashreq's Supplementary Debit Cards are equipped with EMV chip and pin technology.
