Mary Rittling.

Mary Rittling, president of Davidson County Community College, was named recently as a 2008 "Women Extraordinaire" in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina. She received the honor during an awards event in Greensboro. The Women Extraordinaire Awards honor the top women business leaders in the Triad. Janet Ward Black, principal of the Ward Black law firm and a 2007 Woman Extraordinaire, was the keynote speaker at the awards ceremony. She explained that winners were selected for outstanding accomplishments, proven leadership skills, innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities, and for inspiring, nurturing and mentoring others.
