Mary McGillicuddy.

WORCESTER Mary A. (Lynch) McGillicuddy, of Naples, Fla. and formerly of Worcester, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 in Naples. Mary, a longtime registered nurse, would have celebrated her 89th birthday on July 4.

Her husband, John D. McGillicuddy, died in 1965. She leaves two sons, John M. McGillicuddy of Naples, with whom she lived, and Martin P. McGillicuddy and his wife Paulette of Corpus Christi, Texas; a son-in-law, Joseph C. Wall of Worcester with whom she formerly lived; eight grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Her daughter, Anne Wall, died in 1999.

Mary was born in Worcester, daughter of Michael and Mary (Martin) Lynch. She graduated from Commerce High School and St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing.

Mary was on the nursing staff for many years at St. Vincent Hospital and Worcester State Hospital. She was a member of St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, Worcester Diocesan Council of Catholic Nurses, Mass. State Employees Association, the Guild of Our Lady of Providence, Friday Afternoon Club and the Emerald Club.

Calling hours at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, are Friday, June 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, June 21, from the funeral home with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
