Marvell (NASDAQ:MRVL), a company involved in storage, networking, and connectivity semiconductor solutions, has launched its 88W8987xA, an automotive-grade system-on-chip to merge with its new Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure capabilities.

This wireless combo chip is intended to provide a solution for in-car Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5 and 802.11p.

The company's 88W8987xA range of footprint-compatible solutions is claimed to allow car manufacturers to simplify wireless enablement and quickly offer market-leading capabilities to their customers. It complements 88Q2112 automotive Ethernet physical layer transceiver to provide a complete wired and wireless connectivity solution for the connected car.
