Martyrs fight back for win.

NORTH LEIGH ..............................................MERTHYR TOWN........................................

THE Martyrs turned around a half-time deficit to claim all three points in Oxfordshire and move into fourth spot in the Southern League South and West division as all of the teams above them dropped points.

Having taken 23 points from a possible 30 on offer on the road this season it was rather a surprise to see North Leigh go ahead on 21 minutes.

As it turned out it was a miss-placed pass from Gary Colbourne that allowed Jon Else to intercept and he raced on before firing past a helpless Giles Cutlan.

On 62 minutes Steve Williams and Ryan Prosser combined, with the latter setting up Jon Newall who toe poked the ball home.

Just six minutes later Merthyr had turned the game on its head as Aaron Cornwall again fed Prosser but this time the rangy striker completed the task of beating Warren himself from eight yards.

The icing on the cake was provided two minutes from time when Prosser grabbed a second goal, defender James Organ passing the ball back to keeper Warren only for Garyn Preen to charge down his clearance. He subsequently turned before finding Prosser who netted from close range.
