Martin confirms Spring Cup date.
GUY Martin has con-firmed he will race in the Spring Cup at Oliver's Mount next month. The TT star and TV personality will be racing the new Tyco BMW for the first time at the meeting on April 11-12 and is also likely to be back at the Scarborough track for the Barry Sheene meeting in June and the Gold Cup in September.
The Spring Cup is a two-day meeting for the first time this year, mainly to allow competitors to qualify for their TT Mountain Course licence and to cut down the costs of travel, therefore making it a more viable event for the top teams.
With Silkolene and Bridgestone coming in as partners for all the Oliver's Mount meetings this year, the Spring Cup is being treated the same as the Gold Cup international meeting in September so advance booking is recommended.
Other entries already confirmed are Ryan Farquhar, who will be racing a 1000cc Kawasaki for the first time in two years and his faithful Super Twin in the super lightweight class.
Ian Lougher will be riding a Moto 3 Honda in the lightweight class and, although he has raced for the last two years on classic machines, this will be his first meeting on a real Grand Prix type bike for three years.
Ivan Lintin will be riding for his new team RC Express and Lee Johnston again will be riding for the East Coast team.
