Marti transforms into the legendary Dr Jekyll.

FORMER Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow managed to keep his alter-ego under wraps for the launch of Jekyll and Hyde.

The musical version of the acclaimed novel by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson comes to the Wales Millennium Centre in July.

As well as his pop career, Pellow has enjoyed huge success on West End and Broadway, starring in the smash-hit stage musicals Chicago and The Witches of Eastwick.

He now takes on the role of Dr Henry Jekyll, who struggles to contain his inner demon - the misanthropic Edward Hyde.

Jekyll is a brilliant but obsessive scientist whose sadistic alter-ego wreaks havoc across Victorian London in a dark tale of love, redemption and the seductive power of evil.

Based on the 1886 story, the Jekyll and Hyde musical first premiered in 1990.

Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical is at the Wales Millennium Centre between July 4 and 9.
