Marshalls hit right spot in Shield clash; S LIVERPOOL.

CLASHES in the cup and shield took centre stage in the South Liverpool Football League on Saturday.

In the U11 Cup, Kingsthorne were comfortable 5-1 winners over Mossley Hill Athletic.

There was a much closer affair in the U11 Shield between Marshalls and Marshalls Barkhill. And it was Marshalls who eventually triumphed 4-3 on penalties.

In the U12 Shield, Woolton Power just edged Marshalls 3-2 in a terrific encounter.

And defences were to the fore in the game between Macmillan Rangers and Croxteth Park in the U13 Cup. Macmillan just had the edge, winning the match 1-0. In the U13 Shield, Chelwood Westwood cruised to a 5-0 victory over Finn Harps.

In the U14 Cup, Gateacre blanked Marshalls 3-0 while Prescot Cables secured a 5-2 success against Matthoila.

The U15 Cup encounter between Geneva and Tricorn Hotel saw Geneva grab a 2-0 victory.

And in the U15 Shield, FC Start were victorious 3-0 over Kingsthorne Jaguars.
