Marking outbreak of WWI.

MUSICIANS from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra will help e Atkinson in Southport mark the centenary of the outbreak the Great War when they perform a lunchtime concert next week.

e event on Monday is part of the arts centre's World War I commemoration programme. Recorder player John Turner, clarinettist omas Verity and pianist Ian Buckle will be joined by soprano Clare Wilkinson.

Together they will present a programme of music by composers who were involved in the war, alongside new works from contemporary composers with a theme of war and peace.

e Atkinson's commemoration season features events ranging from theatrical productions to lectures and exhibitions as well as music.

Remembering e Great War is on Monday at 1pm. Tickets PS6/PS4 concs on 01704 533333.
