Market researcher leases full building at The Mill

The Taylor Research Group, Inc. will relocate its corporate offices to a restored, turn-of-the-century Victorian house at The Mill, the historic mixed-use office/ retail/residential complex here.

In an expansion move, the market research and consulting organization signed a ten-year lease for the two-and-one-half-story structure's 6,000 square feet of office space, according to Jacqueline Pinyan, director of leasing for Ghent Limited Partnership, owner and manager of The Mill.

The four-and-one-half-year-old research firm is moving 12 employees from 222 Grace Church Street in-Port Chester, New York, where it had maintained offices for nearly five years.

"We needed additional space for our growing operation and The Mill represents a unique opportunity for us," said Scott Taylor, president of the Taylor firm. "The Mill is a distinctive, landmark building with a beautiful setting and we are very excited about the move."

The Taylor organization's new headquarters are in a restored Victorian mansion that was part of the 30-acre parcel's original cotton mill operation. The structure is thought to be the residence of the mill keeper in the late 19th Century, according to Pinyan.

Other mill buildings and a 120-year old railroad station have also been restored and converted to offices, shops, rental apartments, and a restaurant. New-construction designed to blend in with the older buildings house additional offices.

An 80-home, new-construction residential condominium named Hawthorne is being developed on an adjacent site, to complement two already completed and sold out residential components of the mill - River Run and River West.

Paul Enea and Jamie Dolce of First Corporate Property Consultants, Inc., Purchase, New York, represented Taylor during the negotiations.
