Markeforce and IEA's 25th Annual Beesley Lecture Series Return to London, 1st October - 19th November 2015.

London, United Kingdom, September 16, 2015 --( Hosted by the Institute of Economic Affairs in partnership with City University, and sponsored by PwC, these lectures regularly attract speakers from the foremost thinkers in government, industry and academia to present on major trends in regulation. This year's series will focus on energy, water, transport, media and financial services in eight lectures held every Thursday evening from 1st October to 19th November.

The legacy of leading economist Professor Michael Beesley lives on through the exclusive and stimulating environment created by the lectures, where those with an interest in regulatory economics engage in lively debate about the major trends driving industry forward.

The lectures reflect on recent challenges and changes to the industry such as the repercussions of the CMA report's provisional findings and what this means for the future of industry. An analysis of the scope and state of competition in passenger rail services, personal and SME banking will be conducted, alongside the new direction the Water industry is taking under OFWAT. The Lectures are structured as follows:

Lecture 7: Price discrimination and cross subsidies in banking - should regulators be interested?

Lecture 8: How can the UK (re)create a competitive energy market?
