Marching band looks to recruit.

A MARCHING band from Coventry is calling on potential new members to attend an open day.

The Spirit of Coventry Marching Band is holding the event at Woodlands School in Tile Hill on Sunday.

Keith Morris, the marching band's core director, said: "We're trying to expand our numbers.

"We currently have 54 band members, from six-years-old all the way up to mid-40s, and we haven't got a maximum.

"No experience is needed and instruments and uniforms are provided."

The open day will take place at the school off Broad Lane from 1.30pm to 5.30pm.

Auditions for the junior band are normally held on Wednesday evenings, and on Sunday for the senior band.
