March Networks Launches Enterprise-Class Transportation Solution for Advanced Mobile Deployments.

Buffalo and Palm Beach County Transit Authorities Select March Networks for Mobile Video Surveillance on City Buses

OTTAWA, Ontario, June 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- March Networks(TM) (TSX:MN; AIM:MNW), a leading provider of Internet Protocol (IP)-based digital video surveillance solutions, announced today that it has launched a new enterprise- class transportation solution for advanced mobile video deployments on buses, subways, light rail, and freight rail. The offering was designed to meet and exceed the stringent storage, scalability, reliability, and manageability specifications of the world's leading transit authorities.

The enhanced transportation offer includes R5 Mobile Suite Release 1.0, a powerful software suite that provides efficient and automated wireless video extraction and enterprise-wide management for monitoring and maintaining the health of a video surveillance network. The transportation offer also includes the 5412 Mobile Digital Video Recorder (MDVR), the newest member of the 5000 Series of rugged MDVRs. The 5412 MDVR addresses the growing need for more camera coverage, exceptional video quality and increased storage capacity of on-board video surveillance and recording in transit applications. The highly ruggedized unit features 12 video inputs, IP camera support, up to 240 frames per second recording rate and up to 1.5 TB of hard disk storage. The system is also designed to serve as an ideal platform for deploying high value-add applications such as video analytics and passenger information services.

In conjunction with the launch March Networks also announced today that Palm Beach County, Florida and the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) of Buffalo, New York have selected March Networks for advanced mobile video surveillance on their new buses.

After conducting vigorous trials of competing surveillance systems, the NFTA and Palm Beach County selected the March Networks mobile solution to enhance the safety of city bus passengers and employees, as well as enhance the overall operations of each transit authority. March Networks was selected based on outstanding reliability, system health monitoring capabilities, an ability to handle harsh environmental conditions, and its efficient wireless download of video.

"As an innovative transit authority we are always looking for the most advanced and sophisticated technology for our buses. The March Networks mobile video surveillance offering will allow us to achieve our goal of offering superior customer service and added safety," said Howard Scholl Jr., Manager of Bus Maintenance and Equipment for the NFTA.

"The March Networks system will take video surveillance on our buses to the next level, allowing us to manage risk, protect our assets, and improve overall operations," said Butch Sibley, Maintenance Manager of Palm Tran in Palm Beach County.

"The new March Networks transportation solution is unmatched when it comes to wireless technology, management capability, and quality. It meets and exceeds the most stringent requirements of large transit authorities from around the world," said Peter Strom, President and CEO of March Networks. "Like many leading transit authorities Palm Beach County and the NFTA see value in the innovative, high availability, and high reliability technology offered by March Networks."
