Marc's hot for Everton.
MARC Hottiger yesterday had a change of heart and joined Everton after all.
The Swiss right back's pounds 700,000 move from Newcastle was revived a week after it had collapsed when he agreed to lower his wage demands.
But Hottiger, frozen out at St James' Park following Warren Barton's arrival, will have to wait a fortnight to make his Everton debut while his work permit is transferred.
Hottiger, who has signed a two-and-a-half year contract, said: "When you've played for a club like Newcastle it's good to come to another big club. I'm delighted to be here.
"I want to play first- team football and not sit on the bench."
Everton boss Joe Royle said: "We were never too far away on terms and there's been a slight compromise on both sides.
"He's a player I've admired for a while and I've not brought him here to play in the reserves.
"He's desperate to play first-team football to get himself in shape for this summer's European Championship."
Hottiger's arrival is likely to spark the departure of current right back Matt Jackson - with Sheffield Wednesday and Wolves both interested.
