Mar. 7 - heritage committee.

* The committee endorsed the proposed installation of an elevator to the the Old Mill located at 41 Main St. S., St. George.

* It was recommended that the cobblestone house at 24 Barke St., Paris be designated under Part IV - Conservation of Property of Cultural Heritage Value or Interest of the Ontario Heritage Act, 1990.

* It was recommended that the designation by-law (By-law 81-91, former Township of South Dumfries) for 283 McPherson School Rd. be amended to incorporate the following features:

* Building: (a) two 9/9 windows and masonry on the east side (originally the front of the school);

(b) front entrance door facing McPherson School Road, having an elliptical fan light over the transom;

(c) two 9/9 windows and masonry on the south wall. Many bricks in this wall contain former student names etched by the students themselves;

(d) rubble fieldstone foundation;

(e) wooden belfry located on the hip style roof;

(f) elliptical fan light in the west side gable.
