Manufacturers unveil latest products to launch new year!

The 2007 business year is well underway, with manufacturers rushing to complete their new product offerings in time for their debut at the SHOT Show. Gun dealers, even as they maximize the holiday buying season, are preparing for the launch of a new business year.

Here is our first look at the new products for 2007. In January, we will feature additional new products. And, yes, even though the SHOT Show is in early January, our first issue of the new year will be in the hands of dealers before the industry's largest trade event.

Ruger introduces a new line of bolt-action rifles, the Ruger M77 Hawkeyes. The first models are chambered in the new .375 Ruger cartridge, developed in collaboration with Hornady.

The M77 Hawkeye Alaskan features a matte black finish, 20" barrel and a Hogue OverMolded synthetic stock. It will be available in early 2007. The M77 Hawkeye African, also available in early 2007, features a 23" blued barrel and checkered walnut stock. A left-handed African model will be available in mid-2007. The rifles feature windage-adjustable shallow V-notch rear sights, large white-bead front sights, new recoil pads and Ruger LC6 triggers. Ruger's patented scope rings are included.

Ruger introduces a new target rifle for today's rapid-fire action shooting competitions, such as the Shooting Industry Masters. The rifle is based on the Mini-14. The New Target Model Ranch Rifle "is truly a minute-of-angle Mini," Ruger reports, when fired "with the correct ammunition." The rifle's heavyweight, hammer forged, matte stainless steel target barrel features a recessed target crown and an adjustable barrel weight for tuning the rifle. The grey laminated target stock features a wide, flat forend, butt hook, high comb, ventilated handguard and a non-slip grooved rubber buttpad.


The Ruger Target Grey M77 Mark II Frontier is now available in the new .338 Federal and .358 Winchester. The rifles feature a weather-resistant, glare-reducing stainless steel barrel and action, and grey laminated wood stock.

Ruger is adding a 4" barreled .44 Mag. to its Redhawk line. It has a stainless finish and features a newly designed Hogue rubber grip, micro-adjustable white outline rear sight and red ramp insert front sight. The solid stainless steel frame doesn't have side plates to weaken its structural integrity, and the six-shot cylinder is positively aligned with Ruger's patented triple-locking mechanism.

In its Mark III line, Ruger introduces the 22/45 Hunter, featuring a 4 1/2" barrel and a grip angle and feel of a 1911 pistol. The slim polymer grip frame has checkered grip panels, with a serrated front strap and checkered backstrap. The target-crowned, stainless steel barrel is topped with fiber optic front and adjustable V-notch rear sights.

Ruger is offering a cased set of its .357 Mag. and .44 Mag. "Flat Tops," with matching serial numbers. The 50th Anniversary New Model Blackhawk in .357 Mag. and the 50th Anniversary .44 Magnum "Flat Top" are delivered in a glass-top wooden presentation case with a red Ruger silk-screened logo. The matched set will be available beginning December 2006 and only while supplies last.

From the Ruger Studio of Art & Decoration, Ruger is offering an Engraved Cowboy Pair of .45 Colt New Vaqueros with 5 1/2" barrels. The revolvers have consecutive serial numbers and will be shipped in a stained wooden presentation case, highlighted with a Ruger Eagle etched into the clear glass top. Only 500 pairs of the revolvers will be built.

Mossberg introduces its 4X4 bolt-action centerfire rifle. Offered in six standard long-action and magnum calibers: .25-06 Rem.,.270 Win., 30-06 Sprg., 7mm Rem. Mag., .300 Win. Mag., and .338 Win. Mag., the 4X4 features a polymer or walnut stock, with Monte Carlo-style cheekpieces, slim-line grips and recoil-absorbing buttpads.

The 4X4 features a detachable box magazine; Weaver-style scope bases; a free-floating, 22" button-rifled barrel and sling swivel studs. The standard magazine capacity comes with four rounds and the magnum with three rounds. The 4X4 is finished in matte blue and has a weight of 7 pounds.

Taurus's 24/7 OSS, available in .45 ACP, .40 cal. and 9mm, has a single-action/double-action trigger system. Firing from single-action mode, if the primer fails to ignite, the gun reverts to double-action mode. The pistol features a 18.5-pound recoil spring, a match-grade 5 1/4" barrel forged from ordinance-grade steel and a stainless steel guide rod. The pistol includes a checkered grip, ambidextrous indexed memory pads, a Picatinny rail system, a SA/DA indicator, front slide serrations and a reversible magazine release.

The DS model features ambidextrous decock/safety levers that permit the user to carry the gun with the striker cocked and ready to fire, and can then be kept in safety-on "cocked and locked" mode. The user can also release the internal striker without discharging the chambered round by pushing upwards on the safety lever, placing the pistol in double-action mode. This permits the OSS DS Model to be carried in double-action mode with or without the safety on.

The 24/7 OSS is also available in a D model, with decocker only.

DPMS is introducing a rifle for long-range competition shooters and big-game hunters. The LR-260LWH chambered in .260 Remington features a 4140 chrome-moly steel 18" heavy barrel with 1:8" twist and matte black Slim Line Compensator. The upper receiver is extruded 6066-T1 aluminum and features a Picatinny rail. The lower assembly features a matte-black finish, milled 6061-T6 aluminum lower receiver, semiauto trigger and integral triggerguard. It has a lightweight, fixed, skeletonized A2 stock.


Also new from DPMS is the LR-TAC20, a 20" rifle chambered for the .308 Winchester. The LR-TAC20 features a milled 6061-T6 aluminum lower receiver, thick-walled, extruded A3-style upper with detachable carrying handle, slim-line four-rail free-float tube and a Panther Flash Hider. Additional features include an A2 front-sight assembly. A2 Black Zytel Mil Spec buttstock with trapdoor assembly and hard-coat anodizing.

Rock River introduces the LAR-15 rifle chambered for the 6.8 SPC cartridge. Rifles initially offered in the caliber include the TASC Rifle, Tactical CAR A4, Elite CAR A4, Tactical CAR UTE2, Elite CAR UTE2, CAR A2, CAR A4, Mid-length A2 and Mid-length A4.

Standard features include forged upper and lower receivers and NM two-stage trigger. Other features will vary according to model.

Winchester has added shotguns to its Select low-profile receiver over-and-under line. The Select Platinum Sporting and Platinum Field models feature trimmer stock dimensions, offering a lighter feel for faster handling. Stocks are oil finished Grade II/II walnut. Classic game scenes are engraved and lightly inked along the sides. All Select Platinum shotguns are supplied with a molded ABS hard case.

The Select 101 Sporting and Field models have the same stock dimensions and look of the original Model 101, but feature the new Select low-profile receiver design. Deep-relief engraving mimics the original 101. The Select 101 Sporting will be supplied with five Signature extended choke tubes and has barrel porting.

The Select Deluxe Field model features a steel receiver with silver nitride finish and the same stock fit and dimensions as the Platinum Field in Grade II walnut.

The SuperX3 3 1/2" is a 12-gauge waterfowl model in new Mossy Oak Duck Blind camo, with Dura-Touch Armor Coating finish. The bolt is plated with electroless nickel for added corrosion resistance and the barrel has an improved ventilated rib design with .742" Back-Bored Technology. It is available in 26" and 28" barrel lengths.

In rifles, Winchester has expanded its SXR (Super X Rifle) line to include a Grade II model. It features an ergonomic stock, upgraded with an adjustable length-of-pull system. It is available in .300 Win. Mag. and .325 WSM, with adjustable LPA sights featuring Truglo fiber-optic elements.

Winchester's Wildcat Rimfire 22 LR bolt-action rifle line now includes a Target/Varmint model. It has a .866" diameter, 21" bull barrel and the receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope. It has an adjustable trigger and dual front steel swivel studs. One five-round and three 10-round magazines are included.

Browning expands its Cynergy line of over-and-under shotguns with the lighter weight Cynergy Feather, new Euro Sporting models, new High Grade models and new trap models. The models feature the Cynergy ultra-low profile receiver with MonoLock Hinge, reverse striker ignition system and mechanical triggers.

The all new Citori GTS 12-gauge features 3" chambering, 10mm rib. Browning's triple-trigger system and game bird engraving. The Grade I and High Grade models have oil-finished stocks. In Grade II/III, the walnut stocks have a pistol grip and Schnabel forend.

The Citori Grand Prix Sporter 12-gauge target shotgun features Browning's exclusive Selective Ejection System. The silver nitride receiver has gold enhanced engraving, tapered ventilated rib and oil-finished stocks, which feature a pistol grip and Schnabel forend.

The Citori 525 over-and-under is now offered in a 12-gauge Feather model, featuring an alloy receiver. The Browning Gold and Browning Silver semiauto shotguns are offered in the new Mossy Oak Duck Blind pattern for 2007. Browning adds two new trap models to its BPS pump shotgun line: the Standard BPS Trap and the Micro BPS Trap models.


In rifles, Browning introduces Takedown models: the BLR Lightweight with pistol grip, and the BLR Lightweight '81 in 10 short- and four long-action calibers.

Browning's European-style BAR ShortTrac and LongTrac semiauto rifles are now offered in left-hand models in a wide selection of calibers. Also, the right-handed ShortTrac and LongTrac models are offered in Mossy Oak New Break-Up, with composite stocks and Browning's exclusive Dura-Touch Armor Coating.

The A-Bolt bolt action is now offered in two new Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation special models for 2007. The RMEF Special Hunter A-Bolt, in .325 WSM, features a raised cheek-piece checkered stock. The RMEF A-Bolt White Gold model has a stainless steel barrel and receiver with gold engraving in matte finish and high-grade walnut stock.

The T-Bolt rimfire rifle is now offered in a new .22 LR Target/Varmint model, featuring a straight-pull bolt-action, 22" heavy target, free-floating barrel with semi-match chamber and recessed crown.

In handguns, the newest additions to Browning's Buck Mark 22 semiauto pistol line are the Buck Mark Plus UDX, Buck Mark Plus Stainless Black Laminated UDX and Full Line Dealer Buck Mark Plus Rosewood UDX for 2007.

Interstate Arms introduces the IAC 1887 12-gauge 2 3/4" lever-action shotgun. The IAC 1887 features a two-shot, fast-loading system and is an authentic reproduction of the original John Browning lever action. The only changes made to internal parts were those necessary for safe operation and to allow the use of modern ammunition. The shotgun features leather-wrapped split lever design and American walnut stocks.

Weatherby introduces the Mark XXII rimfire rifle for target shooters and small-game hunters. Available in .22 LR and .17 HMR, the Mark XXII features a Monte Carlo stock design with a raised cheekpiece, maple wood spacers and rosewood forend and grip cap.

A fully adjustable, single-stage trigger allows for adjustment of sear engagement and let-off weight from 2 to 4.4 pounds (factory set at 2.5 pounds). The bolt design features a special cam-cocking mechanism with target-type bold handle, and precision CNC machining helps assure smooth action.


Two scope-mounting options are standard: an 11mm dovetail rail is machined into the top of the receiver, and the rifle is drilled and tapped for ring and base scope mounts. A five-shot magazine comes standard with the .22 LR model; a four-shot magazine comes with the .17 HMR. The rifle measures 40 7/8" in overall length and weighs 6 1/2 pounds. Weatherby is partnering with Anschutz to manufacture the Mark XXII.

Winchester Ammunition's Supreme RackMaster 12-gauge slug is designed to work in all types of shotgun barrels, including smooth bore, rifled barrel and rifled choke tube. The slug features a new lead nose and the Winglide rear projectile stabilizer.



The new line of WinLite Low Recoil shotgun ammunition includes 12-and 20-gauge target loads. a 12-gauge buckshot load and two 12-gauge slugs. The 12-gauge target load has 28 grams of No. 8 shot and is ideal for cowboy action and target shooters. The 20-gauge target load has 7/8 ounces of No. 8 shot. The 12-gauge buckshot load has nine pellets of size 00 in a 2 3/4" size. The rifled slug and the Platinum Tip Hollow Point Sabot, in 12-gauge 2 3/4". offer up to one-half the normal recoil.

Winchester's Supreme Xtended Range 3". 12-gauge waterfowl load has a payload of 1 1/8 ounces of No. 6 shot. In its Supreme Elite Xtended Range turkey loads, Winchester now offers a 20 gauge. The new 3" load uses 1 1/8 ounces of No. 5 shot, producing a muzzle velocity of 1.225 fps.

Two new loads have been added to the Xpert Hi-Velocity Steel Shot Waterfowl line. The 12-gauge 3 1/2" loads offer 1,625 fps velocities. The loads use 1 1/4 ounces of steel shot, one in size No. 2, the other size BB.

Winchester expands the Supreme XP3 line with the addition of a 130-grain XP3 bullet in .270 Win. and .270 WSM. The .270 Win. XP3. 130-grain offers a muzzle velocity of 3.050 fps. The .270 WSM XP3, 130-grain offers a muzzle velocity of 3,275 fps.

In its .204 Ruger offerings, Winchester is adding a 32-grain Ballistic Silvertip load. It is also introducing a 150-grain Ballistic Silvertip load in the Supreme line. The new .30-30 150-grain bullet has a silver polymer tip and Winchester's patented Lubalox coating. The blunt bullet nose is designed to be used in tube-feed magazine firearms.

Federal Premium Ammunition * 1-800-322-2342 *

Federal introduces a new nontoxic waterfowl load, the Black Cloud FS Steel. It features the FliteControl wad for longer range and FliteStopper steel for increased knockdown power. The 12-guage is available in 3" and 3 1/2", with a variety of shot loads.

The Vital-Shok Barnes Tipped Expander shotgun slug is now available with a polymer tip. For use in fully rifled barrels only, the new load is available in 12 and 20 gauge.



With the approved use of several new tungsten-based shot types for waterfowl. Federal offers extra-dense Ultra-Shok Heavyweight. The 12-guage is offered in 3" and 3 1/2" sizes.

Federal adds three loads to its Gold Medal Sporting Clays line. The 12-gauge, 1-ounce loads feature one-piece hulls and 12S3 wads, while delivering 1,290 fps velocity.

In rifle ammunition. Federal is offering V-Shok .204 Ruger with a 32-grain Nosler Ballistic Tip bullet. In the Vital-Shok line. Federal is introducing a 140-grain Barnes TSX-Bullet in 7mm Rem. Mag., 7mm-08 and .280 Rem. Also in Vital-Shok. the Nosler AccuBond is now offered in .30-03 Springfield 150-grain and .308 Win. 165-grain.

In Vital-Shok handgun ammunition, Federal introduces a new .460 S & W cartridge, featuring a 275-grain Barnes Expander bullet.

Nosler expands its Accubond line of bullets with four new additions: 6.5mm/.264" 130 grain, .270/.277" 130 grain, .35/.358" 225 grain and 9.3/.366" 250 grain Accubond bullets.

Nosler also expands the cartridge brass line offered by NoslerCustom. The line now includes the .260 Remington, .280 Ackley Improved, .300 H & H Magnum and .300 Short Action Ultra Magnum cartridge brass. Each cartridge bears the Nosler headstamp and is hand-inspected and packaged in boxes of 50.

Nikon's Bullet Drop Compensating (BDC) reticle is calibrated to provide fast, simple aiming points for various shot distances. The system integrates a series of ballistic circles, each subtending 2" at 100 yards, allowing unimpeded line of sight to even small targets.

The BDC is offered on the Monarch Gold 2.5-10x50. Monarch 3-9x40. Monarch 3.5-10x50, Monarch 4.5-14x40, Monarch 5.5-16.5x44, Monarch 6.5-20x44. Buckmasters 3-9x40. Buck-masters 4.5-14x40, Buckmasters 6-18x40 and ProStaff 3-9x40 riflescopes. The BDC is also available as the BDC 250 for muzzleloaders.

The Nikon 4-12x42 Laser Immediate Ranging Technology (IRT) Riflescope combines the BDC reticle with an integrated laser rangefinder. It is also available with Nikon's Nikoplex reticle.

The IRT returns continuous distance readings for 12 seconds with one-touch rangefinding. It may also be operated with the included remote control switch. The Laser IRT weighs 26 ounces and measures 13.1". The unit operates on a 3-volt CR2 battery and ranges out to 766 yards.

DKG Trading Inc. introduces FM Optics' new green laser system. Green laser beams appear brighter and can be seen at greater distances, without the dot diffusing. The 532 Nw green laser system projects a 1/2" beam at 12 yards and is visible to the naked eye up to 1,000 yards. It is constructed of 1" aircraft aluminum with conventional mounts, and is powered by a CR123A battery, featuring an on/off adhesive-backed switch that is attached to the firearm. Overall length is 4.5" and the laser weighs 4.7 ounces.

Leupold introduces the Tactical Prismatic Riflescope. The Tactical Prismatic is a 1x14 scope featuring a glass-etched reticle. It has a 30mm main tube, wide field of view and 1/2 MOA click adjustments.

Bushnell has expanded its PermaFocus line of binoculars with two new roof prism models in 8x42 and 10x42. PermaFocus binoculars require no adjustment for viewing distant objects and features include non-slip rubber armoring, fully coated optics, BK-7 prism glass and a slim profile.

Meopta's Meostar B1 12x50mm roof prism binocular features premium grade, precision lenses coated with Meopta's MB-550 lens coating. Constructed of aluminum alloy housing and fitted with ergonomically designed rubber armoring, the binoculars have a 279' field of view at 1,000 yards.

The binoculars are nitrogen-purged and sealed, waterproof to 13', and feature a 13' close focus and a 4.2mm exit pupil. The binoculars measure 6.7"x5.4"x2.4" and weigh 35 ounces.

Zeiss introduces the Classic line of riflescopes. The line includes the Diavari 1.1-4x24 T*, 1.5-6x42 T*, 2.5-10x50 T*, 3-12x56 T* and the Diatel 6x42 T*. They feature Zeiss' AOS thin-lens technology and T* multicoatings.

Also new from Zeiss is the LotuTec water-repellent coating. LotuTec is a super-smooth coating for anti-reflective glass surfaces that repels both water and oil. It is currently available on the Victory T* FL 8x56 and 10x56 binoculars and will be introduced to the full line of Victory binoculars and riflescopes throughout 2007.


Four new reticle patterns are being introduced for the Victory Diavari V, Diarange M and Conquest MC riflescopes. The Rapid-Z reticles are available as the Rapid-Z 600, Rapid-Z 800 and Rapid-Z 1000 for common rifle calibers, and the Rapid-Z Varmint for smaller, long-range shooting.

The Camera-Eyepiece DC4 combines a digital camera with Zeiss' Diascope spotting scopes. The DC4 is a low-noise, 4MP camera and offers 30x magnification through the Zeiss Diascope 65 FL and 40x magnification with the 85 FL. The DC4 will be a limited edition.

Minox/USA's 8x25 Macroscope is a telescope that fits in the palm of your hand, measuring 3 5/8"x2 1/4"x1 3/4" and weighing 5.3 ounces. Ideal for close-up study, it has a close-focus distance of 13 3/4" and a field of view at 1,000 yards of 342'. It is waterproof to more than 16'. For those who wear glasses, an extended exit pupil makes the full field of view visible. The Macroscope has rubber-armor coating and features a twist-up/twist-down eyecup.

The Minox HG 8x33 binocular combines the features of the four HG models in a smaller size of 4 15/16"x5"x2" and with a weight of 21.3 ounces. Its 92-percent light transmission ensures bright color and contrast even at dawn and dusk. It features an ergonomically shaped magnesium body with rubber-coated armor for a comfortable grip. It also features the QCF system, a quick close-focus capability that makes it possible to take exact distance readings from a scale on the focusing wheel.

Also from Minox is the Digiscoping Set, which permits capturing images through a scope. Boyt introduces the Intercept Law Enforcement line of tactical cases. The cases are constructed of duty-strength 1300 ballistic nylon and the line includes cases for tactical rifles, handguns and shotguns.

The tactical rifle case is available in 42" and 46" lengths, fits AR-style rifles with or without optical sights, and features five magazine pouches and an accessory pocket. The case is lined with 1" foam padding. The shotgun case fits short-barrel shotguns and is extra wide for extended magazine tubes and attached accessories. GunVault has updated its line of rapid-access gun safes with the GunVault Bio 2000. The mini-safe uses biometric fingerprint-recognition technology and a single fingerprint recognition groove on the No-Eyes control panel. The system will store up to 30 fingerprint templates and updates, and improves the fingerprint-recognition data each time a user touches the sensor.

The Bio 2000 is available in the Multi Deluxe GunVault and is constructed of 16-guage steel with soft-foam interior padding. The battery has a one-year life and backup mechanical keys are included. The unit may be bolted or cabled to a floor, wall, cabinet or vehicle trunk. The Bio 2000 measures 14"x10"x7.9" and weighs 14 pounds.


Sniper Tools Design Co.


Sniper Tools' C-Level aligns the reticle of a riflescope during mounting. The level is inserted between the slots of a Picatinny rail or placed on the rail assembly. The slide's magnets hold it in place. The top edge of the C-Level is aligned with any straight-edge object that is at least 15 yards away. The horizontal stadia is then aligned with the same object and the cap screws tightened, which levels the reticle.


Action Target

The Evil Roy Target stand folds to less than 3' long and is constructed of AR500 armor steel. The target requires no tools for assembly and features an angled target plate with no exposed bolts, hooks or clamps. The target stands are available in 2', 3' and 4' heights. Static and knockdown targets are available.

The Bianchi Model 90 Vision is a leather concealment holster designed for light-mounted weapons. The holster offers a semi-closed bottom, which covers the bezel of the light to protect the lens, yet is open at the muzzle portion to allow debris to fall through. This traditional thumb-break holster features a 1.75" belt loop design, allowing the pistol to be carried in strong-side or cross-draw mode.


The Model 90 Vision is available in plain finish, tan or black leather. It is currently offered for the Glock 17, 19, 22 and 23, SIG P220R, P226R and P229R and the Beretta Vortec, mounted with a Streamlight M3, M6, M3X or TLR-2 tactical lights.

The Shoot-N-C Turkey Silhouette shotgun patterning kit features a 24"x25" turkey silhouette target and four 12"x12" Shoot-N-C self-adhesive turkey heads.


Birchwood Casey's Angled Cleaning Brushes are designed for cleaning hard-to-reach areas of shotguns, handguns and rifles. The brushes feature an angled neck and the set comes with two stainless steel brushes for hard metals and one nylon brush for more delicate surfaces. The brushes are solvent and corrosion resistant and have wooden non-slip handles.

Revision Eyewear is making the Desert Locust Goggle and the Sawfly Eyewear System available to outdoorsmen. The goggles and eyewear were originally designed for the U.S. Army. The Sawfly system offers optical-grade polycarbonate and interchangeable lenses with 100-percent UVA, UVB and UVC protection. The Sawfly Deluxe Kit includes three lenses: clear, solar and high contrast.


The Desert Locust offers panoramic field of view and one-piece, 3mm-thick high-impact polycarbonate lenses with OcuMax coating to prevent fogging and scratching. The Desert Locust Goggle Deluxe also includes clear, solar and high contrast lenses, and is available in foliage green and desert tan.

The Onix 200 GPS receiver from Bushnell allows users to download satellite images, topographic maps and aerial photography. The Onix features a 240x160 pixel. 16-level gray scale LCD display and Night Mode reversed graphics. Two AA batteries provide up to 26 hours of run time. Users can customize the display for land- or marine-based navigation and the internal 32 MB memory will hold up to 500 waypoints. 20 trails and 10 routes. The Onix 200 weighs 4 ounces and measures 4.8"x2.5"x1.3" with a 2.2"x1.5" screen. It comes ready to use with a USB cable, CD, Interactive User Guide and GPS PC Companion software. Also included are four free downloads from Bushnell's Web site: additional downloads are available.

The Trail Scout 5.0 Trail Camera has been upgraded with more resolution and more power. The Trail Scouts now offer 5.0 MP resolution and more powerful infrared night vision. Other features include a 3.0 MP sensor, moon phase stamp, audio recording capability, 128 MB SD card, low battery indicator and motion sensor that can be activated out to 90'.

Leatherman redesigns the Charge line with three new models: the Charge TTi, Charge AL and Charge ALX. The TTi features titanium handles, scissors, cap crimper, cutting hook and clip-point knife. The AL and ALX are made of aluminum alloy and feature the same tool sets as the discontinued Charge Ti and XTi. The Charge line features locking blades, diamond-coated files and multiple bit drivers. Other features include wire crimpers, strippers and cutters, saws, bottle/can openers and redesigned pliers.

Leatherman's new line of four hunting knives includes two fixed-blade and two folding-blade models. The fixed blades--Steens and Ukiah--feature rotating handles to cover the blades, bone saws and gut hooks. The Steens features rosewood inlaid handles and the Ukiah features a molded grip. The folding models--Klamath and Nehalem--feature gut hooks and 4" lockback blades. The Klamath has a rosewood inlay handle and the Nehalem has a molded handle. All feature a diamond-coated sharpening rod, and the Steens, Ukiah and Klamath models include leather sheaths. The Nehalem comes with a nylon sheath.

SureFire announces its G3 flashlight, a more powerful version of its G2 Nitrolon flashlight. The slightly larger 9-volt G3 has a maximum light output of 105 lumens and is constructed of Nitrolon, a polymer made from nylon and fine glass fibers for added rigidity, abrasion resistance and increased stability at high temperatures.

The G3 features tailcap switching for constant or momentary light, with a lockout tailcap that prevents accidental activation during transport or storage. Total length of the G3 is 6.5", with a weight of 5.5 ounces. The flashlight runs off 3-volt lithium batteries that provide a one-hour runtime, and it comes in black and olive-drab green.

Cyclops' Orion VX is a 5 LED hat clip light with a dual light system control switch. The center bulb is equipped with a magnifier lens for long-distance beam, while the four LEDs on either side of the magnifier provide wide light area. The top-mount design doesn't obscure the wearer's line of vision.


Buck Knives


Buck Knives' Model 730 X-Tract is a multi-tool designed for one-hand operation. The X-Tract includes spring-loaded needle-nose pliers; #2 Phillips screwdriver and a 3/16" slotted screwdriver; a can/bottle opener; integrated wire-cutters and a 3" partially serrated drop-point blade made of 420HC stainless steel. The X-Tract is available in blue, black or platinum, and weighs less than 6 ounces.

Buck's Model 756 Transport is a compact keychain knife with a bottle opener and lanyard/keyring hole. At 2 7/8" closed, it has a 1 1/4" drop-point blade with a thumb hole for one-hand opening. The Transport is available in red, blue, smoke and pearl.

The Model 860 Buck/Hartsook Neck Knife is a compact, lightweight fixed blade. It has a 1 7/8" talon blade, with an overall length of 4 1/4" and weighs 1/2-ounce.

Two models of the frame-lock Parallex knives have been introduced. Model 316 has a 2 1/4" blade; Model 318 is 2 3/4" and partially serrated. The handles feature lightening holes and are available in electroplated blue and platinum or full-black glossy titanium coating on the handle and blade.

Four camo models have been added to the Alpha Hunter series. The fixed blades come in two sizes: Model 693CM, with a 3 3/4" drop-point blade; and Model 196CM Mini Alpha Hunter, with a 2 1/2" modified wide drop-point blade. The two folders are the full-size Model 278CM with a 3 1/2" drop-point blade and gutting/skinning blade, and the compact Model 271CM Alpha Dorado with a 2 1/2" spear-point blade.

The Mossy Oak Break-Up camo pattern is now available on three of Buck's lightweight Bantam lockbacks.

Williams Firearms adds a bottom metal assembly for Remington 700 short and long actions. The assemblies are CNC-machined from drop-forged steel and feature an in-the-bow release, two-degree draft and drop-in factory inletting. They work with aftermarket triggers, with no gunsmithing needed. Flat and round bottom models are offered for Remington BDL and CDL sporter models.

Truglo's Razor Sharp Sight features a vertical dot alignment with all aiming dots on the same vertical plane. A single vertical crosshair with individually adjustable dots permits faster sighting. The sight head's inner diameter is 1.7". creating a large circular field of view, and the sight ring's perimeter glows in the dark to help align the peep sight in low-light conditions.

To eliminate bow cant, the Razor comes with a bubble level with two vertical bars illuminated by the luminescent shooter's ring. A reversible bracket allows for greater vertical adjustability and is ambidextrous. Laser-etched markings aid in elevation and windage adjustments, and the rheostat light helps control the brightness of the sight pins.

The Razor also comes in a micro-adjust model that features tool-less, ultra-fine click adjustments for windage and elevation.

LaserLyte announces the Sub-Compact Laser Sight for pistols and long guns with Picatinny, Weaver and tactical rails. The sight uses digital circuitry with a 650nm Hi-Definition laser module, wireless compression switch and is adjustable for windage and elevation. The sight weighs less than 1-ounce with batteries and has a range of up to 500 yards at night.


The laser has a pulsing low-battery indicator, allowing the operator to use the laser for target acquisition, extending the battery life for 2.5 hours. BlackHawk Law Enforcement introduces the Serpa Auto Lock Level 3 Duty Holster. The holster features Pivot Guard to keep the weapon secure until drawn, and the Serpa Auto Lock system. Made of lightweight injection-molded carbon fiber composite, the holster works with multiple platforms, including belt loop, paddle, thigh platform, shoulder harness and MOLLE/S.T.R.I.K.E. systems. The holster is available for the Glock 17, 19, 22 and 23, with other models, including a Tactical version, in production.

BlackHawk introduces three cutaway armor carriers, which provide the ability to rapidly break free from the vest. The S.T.R.I.K.E. Cutaway Tactical Armor Vest, designed for law enforcement and civilian operators, is a four-piece carrier that covers the entire torso with large front, back and side components. It's designed to hold Level IIIA soft armor panels, as well as Level IV plates.


The S.T.R.I.K.E. Cutaway Vest-OTV is designed for military operators with all the features of the Tactical Armor Vest plus modification to accept the issued military Level IIIA IBAS soft armor panels.

The S.T.R.I.K.E. Cutaway Plate Carrier is a universal design featuring the Operator's Cutaway Chest Rig. a quick-pull release handle secured in a band of nylon on either shoulder of the front panel.

In its Warrior Wear line. BlackHawk introduces the Extended Cold Weather Clothing System Gen III Layer 5 jacket and pant. A layered clothing system, the jacket and pant are durable, lightweight, breathable and wind and water resistant. They remain soft and flexible with Nextec EPIC silicone-encapsulated fabric.

BlackHawk's new Lok-Down Sling Swivel is constructed of steel with a threaded lock down knurled steel plunger knob. The swivel is available in swivel-only pairs and sets of swivel and bases to fit most rifles and shotguns, and is available in blued and stainless steel finishes.

BlackHawk introduces four hunting packs ranging in size from 573 to 2,377 cubic inches. The packs are constructed of silent, water-resistant, brushed tricot fabric with double stitching throughout and near-silent YKK zippers. Each pack features a 100-ounce hydration system. LaserMax's J-Max is the company's first model in a new line of laser systems for revolvers. Designed for Smith & Wesson J-frames, the J-Max features a slide-mounted laser system that places the laser module high on the frame above the cylinder. It weighs less than I-ounce and has ambidextrous activation buttons. An internal mode switch permits selection of a pulsing or continuous wave beam.


The Uni-Max rail-mounted laser sight attaches to a Picatinny or Weaver rail. The unit has its own Picatinny rail mount, allowing additional accessories to be attached. The laser is activated by an ambidextrous switch or an optional remote switch. The low-profile housing places the laser close to the barrel. The Uni-Max has windage and elevation adjustments.
