Mann's surgery of the foot and ankle, 9th ed; 2v. (online access included)
Ed. by Michael J. Coughlin, Charles L. Saltzman, and Robert B. Anderson.
Coughlin, Saltzman, and Anderson present the 9th edition of this two-volume set on foot and ankle surgery. Approximately 40% of the material has been fully rewritten since the last edition, with significant updates in the areas of diagnostic imaging, plantar plate tears, and arthritis treatment. Volume I begins with general considerations of biomechanics, anatomy, imaging, conservative treatment strategy, and anesthesia. Specific problems with the forefoot are treated next, followed by single chapters on nerve disorders and plantar heel pain. Soft tissue disorders including infections, skin problems, reconstruction, and bone tumors, followed by a significant section on arthritis, postural disorders, and tendon disorders round out the volume. The second volume addresses podiatric care in some special treatment contexts: diabetes, sports medicine, pediatrics, and traumatic injury. Photographs of clinical presentations, surgical procedures, dissections, and treatment appliances, radiographs, and anatomical drawings illustrate the text.Online access includes 130 supplemental video clips.
