Manila tells motorists: Watch out for road closures on day of Sona.
Due to expected rallies on President Rodrigo Duterte's second State of the Nation Address (Sona), the Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit (MDTEU) announced possible road closures and re-routing of vehicles.
The MDTEU said roads facing possible closure were Chino Roces Bridge in Mendiola and the stretch of Roxas Boulevard (north and southbound lanes) from Kalaw Avenue to Pedro Gil Street.
MDTEU advised that all heavy vehicles (trucks and trailers) coming from Bonifacio Drive going south on Roxas Blvd. should turn left to P. Burgos Avenue to point of destination. While trucks and trailers coming from Pasay going north on Roxas Blvd. should turn right to Pres. Quirino Avenue to the northern truck route to point of destination.
On the other hand, all light vehicles coming from Bonifacio Drive going south of Roxas Blvd. should turn left to Kalaw Avenue to point of destination while those going north should turn right to Pedro Gil Street to point of destination.
Meanwhile, all vehicles coming from Quiapo going east of Legarda should turn left to C. Aguila Street to point of destination while those coming from Divisoria area traveling to Claro M. Recto should turn left to Morayta street to point of destination instead of going east to Legarda.
On the other hand, all vehicles coming from Divisoria going to Claro M. Recto to westbound of Legarda should turn right to SH Loyola to point of destination while vehicles coming from Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard passing through Legarda should instead turn right to Bustillos Street to point of destination.
