Maniitsoq Vaerft, a Greenlandic shipyard, is to be privatised.

The privatisation process has reportedly taken two years of negotiations that have included the Greenlandic Home Rule and the municipality of Maniitsoq. A company that will run the shipyard after the privatisation has now been formed.

The shipyard will reportedly continue to carry out repair work as well as building Q17 boats. There are also plans for producing a new recreational boat type.
