Mandela's docs won't switch off.
NELSON Mandela's life support machine will NOT be turned off unless his major organs fail, it was revealed last night.
The anti-apartheid hero, 94, is still in critical condition but his family deny he is in a "persistent vegetative state".
Close friend Denis Goldberg asked Mandela's doctors if they plan to end life support.
He said: "They said they would consider it only if there was a genuine state of organ failure.
"Since that hasn't occurred they were quite prepared to stabilise him until he recovers."
The South African icon was taken into hospital in Pretoria with a lung infection 30 days ago.
A source said the seriousness of his condition was exaggerated during a legal fight over the reburial of his three children.
