Managing the Internet at work. (Management).

A "self-help" guide to managing the Internet at work has been launched by Websense, an employee Internet management (ELM) software company. The practical step-by-step guide provides advice for anyone who needs to manage, advise, set, implement or follow Internet-use guidelines in the workplace. The guide, entitled "Employee Internet Management provides an overview of the key steps that businesses need to follow m order to achieve effective ELM. There are also individual sections that cover advice and action plans for Human Resources, IT and Legal professionals as well as the employee.

The book was developed following the results of a Web at Work survey conducted by Taylor Nelson Sofres. The survey, showed that less than half of European organisations manage the Internet in the workplace despite a growing awareness that 'cyber-slacking' is costing companies billions in lost productivity.
