Managerial hunt is on.

Head-hunters are helping a Newcastle firm to get the best staff after a shortage of applicants.

Karol Marketing is struggling to find candidates to fill three senior positions in the firm.

The PR and marketing company has now turned to head-hunters and recruitment agencies to help it find the perfect staff.

Martin Smith, group account director, said: "We have been looking to fill three newly created senior positions in the company. I am always keen to recruit from within the region, but for the first time we have had to look outside the North East.

"Businesses are beginning to recognise the huge benefits which the area has to offer ( lower overheads, great transport links and quality of life ( and with increasing numbers of businesses starting out or relocating in the region, the demand for suitably qualified and experienced staff seems to have outstripped supply."

Karol Marketing's national and regional clients include food and drink, outdoor pursuits and travel and leisure organisations.
