Yoichiro Kaizaki has been elected president of Bridgestone Corp. upon the retirement of Akira Yeiri. Succeeding Kaizaki as chief executive officer of Bridgestone/Firestone is Masatoshi Ono. Kaizaki will continue to serve as chairman of Bridgestone/ Firestone.

Kazuo Motoyama has been elected chairman and Seiji Hagiwara has been elected president of Yokohama Rubber. Other appointments include Ichiro Ohata and Yukio Maeda to executive directors; Keiji Mira, Yositaka Murase, Osamu Kinoshita, Shiro Nakamoto, Daijiro Miyake and Yoshimichi Hanabusa to managing directors; and Hisaaki Suzuki to director and advisor. The following have been appointed directors of Yokohama: Eika Yamagata, Kazutake Misima, Tetsufumi Sato, Ryouhei Tsunokuma, Kenzou Nakanishi, Tadahiro Ikeda and Hiroshi Hirakawa. Masao Kanematsu was named standing auditor and Tatsuo Taniguchi was appointed auditor.

Four newly appointed vice presidents of Dow Plastics for Dow North America are: J.L. Borin, engineering thermoplastics; E.F. Gambrell, olefins and styrenics; W.R. Long, polyurethanes and epoxies; and E.W. Rogers, fabricated products.

John L. Medina has advanced to executive vice president of Degussa's Pigments Group.

Robert H. Bucher accepted a promotion to vice president and general manager of Measurex's Devron Division. He succeeds John Preston, who has become president of European operations.

Gary Van Denend has been elected president of Glenro, following the retirement of Herbert Van Denend, who continues as chairman of the board.

Dr. lan Gelling, head of the Dry Rubber Applications Group at the Malaysian Rubber Producers' Research Association, has been appointed business manager of Rubber Consultants, the research and development consultancy of MRPRA.

Derek Philpott has been appointed European general manager of Tripos Associates.

Joseph L. Grant has been named director of product analysis in General Tire's Law Department. Patricia A. Genetin has become operations manager in the company's telemarketing department. Other promotions include James R. Dickson to director of truck tires in the Commercial Division; Daniel M. Chippendale to assistant export credit manager; and Michael T. Worthington to manager, treasury planning and analysis. In the Pyramid Business Technologies department, John Johnsen has been appointed project manager, and Maxine Meola and Kenneth V. Hinchee have been appointed project analysts.

Mike L. Burns has been elected vice president of human resources and total quality culture and Jay S. Miller was appointed vice president, organization and human resources development, for Goodyear. Jesse T. Williams, Sr., has become vice president of compensation and employment practices. Other company promotions include Fred Bailey to manager of the automotive hose business at Sun Prairie, WI; Bob Ekiss to manager of the St. Marys, OH, plant; Jim Pecorelli to plant manager at Logan, OH; Fred Haymond to communications manager for general products; Jim Manning to national brand advertising manager, passenger fires; Paul J. Lauritzen to assistant director of racing; and Cal Lint to Formula 1 auto racing field manager.

GenCorp Automotive appointed Gary Phillips director of labor relations and promoted Steve Matteson to plant manager at the company's vibration control facility in Wabash, IN. R.P. Lachowski advanced to plant manager of the Ionia, MI, facility.

Giovanni Pozzi has been appointed managing director of Ferodo Italiana SpA, a member of the Friction Products Group of T&N plc.

Robert P. Fink has become regional manager for two branches of Mainline Industrial Distributors.

Robin E. Keller has advanced to manager of Dunlop Tire's distribution center in Shelby, OH. Dunlop also promoted C. Roger Jones to manager of corporate human resources.

Mary E. Coughlin has been promoted to manager of corporate auditing by Cooper Tire & Rubber.

Tom Bender accepted a promotion to plant controller at Kelly-Springfield Tire's Fayetteville, NC, plant. Stephanie F. Shockey and William R. Vogtmau have become managers of information systems and Lorin L. Emerick has been elevated to applications programmer analyst in the department. Joe M. Harvey has been named manager of application development strategies.
