Management of motor speech disorders in children and adults, 3d ed. (DVD included)
Ed. by Kathryn M. Yorkston et al.
This volume is intended for graduate students and practicing speech-language pathologists working with children and adults with neurologic communication disorders, and discusses the diagnosis, management, and interventions of these disorders, with an emphasis on clinical decision making. Yorkston (speech pathology and rehabilitation medicine, U. of Washington-Seattle) et al. provide a new DVD in this edition, which contains 27 video clips of individual cases of dysarthria and apraxia of speech in a range of speaking tasks, as well as demonstrations of equipment and procedures and interviews with a prosthodontist and a speech-language pathologist. This edition also integrates content from recently published practice guidelines developed by the Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders and Sciences and terminology and concepts of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health model. It also has a new chapter on conditions associated with motor speech disorders.
