Man with unloaded gun killed by police.

A JILTED boyfriend brandishing an unloaded gun was shot dead by police yesterday outside his ex-lover's house.

Steven Dickson, 30, arrived at Janet Blurton's home with what appeared to be a shotgun, 40 minutes after being told to stay away by police.

Armed officers arrived at the scene in Codnor, Derbyshire, and told him to drop the weapon. He lifted his gun as if to fire and was shot.

The weapon was later found to be not loaded.
