Man went after his ex with a knife.

A JEALOUS boyfriend has been jailed after he went after his ex with a kitchen knife.

Adrian Butts, 25, bombarded Cerys Williams with calls and followed her for four months before drunkenly confronting her in a pub. Butts followed her from the pub and picked up a kitchen knife.

He was seen swinging the knife and making threats before being chased off by a group including her brother, Daniel Williams, 23.

Butts ran to his sister's home nearby where his young nephew Thomas Jones came out to help but was punched in the face by Ms Williams' angry brother.

Butts' nephew suffered a fractured jaw and swelling to the face, and his attacker along with Butts were arrested and charged with affray.

Both pleaded guilty to affray, with Butts, from Beech Court, Bargoed, sentenced to 11 months in jail and Williams, of Caer-Odyn, Abertillery, was given a sevenmonth sentence suspended for two years.
